Latest Apple Watch Brings New Features
September 15, 2018
Every September brings major excitement to the world as Apple releases their new devices and operating systems. This year on September 12, the Apple Keynote presented the new iPhone, Macbooks, iPad, and of course, the new Apple Watch.
Apple headlined the new device as “All new. For a better you,” as their main goal of the new watch is to better support the fitness aspects of the watch. Owners of the watch often complain about its lack of efficiency when tracking workouts. Apple saw this weakness in their product, and completely reinvented it. One of brilliant things they added was an “automatic workout detector.”
As an owner of an Apple Watch, I agree that it is very annoying to have to click 3-4 different options just to start a work out and a majority of the time I don’t even select a workout because it’s very annoying to try and select a workout. So the new Apple Watch fixes this by automatically starting a workout once it senses you are being active.
Another new feature is more watch faces on the device. This year, Apple came out with a “breathe watch face”. Breathe is an app that leads you through breathing sessions to help relax the user. So to help promote relaxation and mindfulness, Apple added a breathe face to the watch home screen. Users now have much easier access to the breathe app, and the app is now able to detect when heart rate increases at a drastic amount and can offer the user breathing exercises to help them relax.
In my opinion, the most unique new feature on the watch is the Walkie-Talkie app. Users can connect their watch with their friends’ watches and speak to it like a walkie-talkie. This allows users to have a more personal message with their friends. And with the click of a button, they can send a message to their friends.
The Apple Watch 4 has some incredible new features, and is available for purchase. The watch starts at $399.00.
