New MSU AP Literature Workshop being held at Bowers
Attention all prospecting and current AP Literature & Composition students: Michigan State University is holding a workshop at Bowers Farm to prepare AP Lit students for the AP exam.
The workshop will begin January 15th and will end March 26, 2018. In order to sign up, you must fill out THIS registration form, pay $195.00, and submit it by December 19, 2017.
According to Bloomfield.org, “Payment is due in full upon registration to reserve your spot. Notice of withdrawal from the program must be given by December 19 via email [email protected]. No refunds will be given after this date.”
According to Bloomfield Hills Schools, “To take the test in 2018, you will need to talk to your school counselor or AP coordinator in January 2018, to make sure you will meet your school’s deadlines for signing up for the AP test. You are responsible for paying the cost to take the exam, and the base cost is $94.”
Liza Lauter, a current AP English Literature and Composition teacher at Bloomfield Hills High School, spoke about her thoughts on the class.
“Any time students can work with the material again, have more practice, or go more in depth on test-taking strategies, there are benefits. However, our AP teachers also do an outstanding job preparing students to be successful on the AP, as well as building important analytical and writing skills that will help them beyond the classroom. Ultimately, there is plenty to learn, and it is up to students and their parents if they want to extend that learning outside of the school day.”
