Eastover Wins BHS Foundation Grant

In addition to countless other awards, such as the title of a Blue Ribbon School, Eastover Elementary was the winner of the Bloomfield Hills Schools Foundation grant, in which the school was able to receive $1,000 to continue to be a nationally recognized school.

“The Bloomfield Hills Foundation is a non-profit corporation that raises money exclusively for educational purposes in the Bloomfield Hills School District. This year, the foundation offered a $1,000 grant to the school with the most participation,” said Eastover Elementary Principal, Carey Crocker. “According to the Niche rankings, our school has been the top ten in the state based on academic ratings, along with staff and community input. Our goal is remain one of the top ten elementary schools in the state of Michigan.”

Crocker and her staff hope to use the money to both continue to be a nationally recognized school, as well as continue to provide students with the best learning experience they can offer.

“We are truly proud that Eastover won the grant. It is amazing and we feel blessed to have so many families, community members, and staff who support our work with students.  The Eastover staff will decide how to best spend the money to benefit the students. Ideas right now are around new technology tools or a new sensory garden for students with special needs,” explained Crocker. “The Bloomfield Hills Foundation has been instrumental in providing our students with wonderful opportunities and resources over the past few years. The staff and I are thrilled and look forward to using this new grant money to supplement the great learning taking place at Eastover.”
