Violent Video Games
I’m Kaylie Brooks with a WBFH editorial.
According to a report from the American Psychological Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics, 90% of children in the United States play video games. More importantly, 85% of video games on the market are violent video games, gaining the demographic of teenagers ages 12-17.
The American Psychological Association observed a research project that showcased a link between violent video game use and aggressive behavior. The study also highlighted a decrease in prosocial behavior, empathy, and more engagement.
These videos games are not providing a good influence on America’s children. In result, these games are sculpting children to not have positive motives and make them act out with negative behavior.
These games are not appropriate or suitable for anyone under the age of 18. I believe that violent video games should not be played unless over the age of 18.
