Thanksgiving traditions
What is your favorite family tradition?
Thanksgiving is a time for family traditions for many people. Families often have distinct foods that they make only on the holidays, people they spend it with, and specific activities they enjoy. One of my most cherished traditions is going to my aunt’s house and having Thanksgiving dinner with all of my family. We all bring different food to help make the Thanksgiving feast. For my immediate family, it means bringing cheesy potatoes. On Thanksgiving day, my mom and I make it together and it is my favorite since I do not like traditional Thanksgiving food. Of course, we always have pumpkin pie, but I tend to lean towards delicious, mouthwatering monkey bread. Another one of my traditions is going to the Franklin Cider Mill the week of Thanksgiving. I love doing this because of the quality time that I get to spend with my family. The day after Thanksgiving my mom and I always go Black Friday shopping at local stores, we always have so much fun together. Last year unfortunately we were not able to do any of these fun traditions. The only tradition that we were able to participate in is making the food and having all of the food around our much smaller Thanksgiving table of four. I would not trade my family traditions for the world and I love each and every one of them. There is no right or wrong way to celebrate Thanksgiving as long as you are with your loved ones.
