Are you excited for fall? You should be. If not, hopefully I can change your mind as I introduce to you 5 fall “funtivities” in the Metro Detroit area for you and your friends and family to enjoy. These activities are perfect for the runners, the food critics, the lovers of nature, and of course, the horror buffs.
The first fall event is for the people who love team spirit, a little running, along with cider and donuts. The “Fall Football Frenzy 5k” is perfect for all ages, located at the Rochester Municipal park on Saturday, October 12th. Show up in your favorite football team’s jersey and run at your own pace through various areas of the beautiful, scenic, and natural Rochester park. The event is a perfect mix of some physical activity, some delightful bites, and easy fun.
This next one is pretty expected, but always necessary – the cider mill. But, we are not talking about just any cider mill. If you have never been to Yates Historic Cider Mill it is simply a must. Yates Cider Mill in Rochester is not just cider and donuts. It’s a destination, and their fall treats are not to be taken lightly. Yates is Michigan’s oldest working water powered mill. From river walks, to fudge, to historic sites, to freshly made donuts, to hayrides, and so much more, Yates should be next on your list.
In Bloomfield Hills, we cannot forget about Fall Fest at Bowers farm. Fall at the Bowers Farm has just about everything. On October 5th and 6th, The festival features various food trucks, live entertainment, pumpkins, cider, donuts, and activities for the young ones. To celebrate fall at the farm is a terrific way to give to our community here in Bloomfield Hills.
The very last activity is for the lovers of horror. The Erebus Haunted Attraction is one of the spookiest haunted houses in Michigan. Located in Pontiac, the Erebus attraction takes you through a half-mile of pure thrill. If you enjoy horror movies and love halloween, imagine walking through the horror movies you watch at home in real time, with the jumpscares just inches away from you. This is not for everyone, but if it is something you are interested in, you are definitely in for a good scare.
I hope you all consider at least one of these fall funtivities. It is so important for us to celebrate the spectacular changing of seasons and the new seasons arising here in Michigan. Tell us your favorite fall funtivity by emailing [email protected].
