1. M&Ms
M&Ms, one of the most widely enjoyed candies across the country, are a great Halloween treat to find in your bag. The classic milk chocolate, covered in a wide variety of colors, is the perfect sweet treat, but the only problem is once you start, it’s almost impossible to stop.
2. Dum-Dums
The pinnacle of childhood treats: Dum-Dums. These sweet and sour suckers will last you what seems like an endless amount of time, and with cotton candy, blue raspberry, or the other 15 flavors, you can never go wrong.
3. Snickers
Though a basic and straightforward candy, Snickers are still one of the most enjoyable and savory of the bunch. The peanuts along with caramel, ultimately brought together by the milk chocolate coating is perfectly combined, with none overpowering the others. This candy has been popular for over 100 years, and rightfully so.
4. Starburst
These little squares of color are loved by everyone for many reasons. The sweetness and simplicity of Starburst make them a treat to find in your Halloween bag, and when pairing this with their longevity, it easily makes them a top five candy.
5. Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are so perfectly designed, and with only two main components, they make for a delicious and simple treat. In addition, they are also very unique, being basically the only candy containing peanut butter, which pairs perfectly with chocolate. As long as you aren’t allergic to peanuts, this is a wonderful surprise to find in your bag.
6. Caramel Apple Lollipops
Arguably the most underrated candy of all time are the Caramel Apple Lollipops. The Tootsie brand suckers have real caramel coating on a green apple flavored sucker. They are the perfect candy for fall or if you’re craving an extra sweet caramel apple. The only downside is that the sucker will surely turn your mouth fluorescent green.
7. Twix
A popular favorite flavor combination is chocolate and caramel. Twix arguably does this combination the best, especially with the crunch that the biscuit adds to the overall experience.
8. Sour Skittles
Though regular skittles are a fan favorite, Sour Skittles are arguably much better. The candy is sour enough to have a good flavor, but not too sour that your mouth will start bleeding.
9. Nerds
Nerds are extremely recognizable from the sound that they make swishing around in your trick or treat bag. Coming in a variety of flavors–with its most popular being grape and strawberry–the ultra sweet candy is always a great addition to your candy haul.
10. Candy Corn
Candy Corn may be the most controversial Halloween candy. The candy has a marshmallow like flavor with a soft and chewy texture that easily melts in your mouth. The major complaints about this candy is how sugary the flavor is. While it can be fun to snack on a few during the fall, many would recommend that you stop after that, before your stomach starts really disagreeing with you.
