For the past 19 years, Taylor Swift has made a profound impact on the music industry. This year has been no different. Along with the recent announcement of her engagement, Taylor’s surprise plans have been plentiful this August. The Life of a Showgirl, Swift’s twelfth album, was announced on August 12, 2025 at 12:12am on the Kelce brother’s podcast, New Heights. Later on in the podcast, Taylor disclosed that the album will feature 12 songs, including Eldest Daughter, The Fate of Ophelia and the title song The Life of a Showgirl featuring Sabrina Carpenter. As of late September, more than eleven different variants of The Life of a Showgirl have been made available for fans to pre-order, in both physical and digital formats.
Throughout her career, Taylor has had no shortage of dropping “Easter eggs” for fans to find, this time is no different. To hint at the album release, Taylor Nation posted 12 orange themed photos of Taylor during Taylor Swift: The Era’s Tour on Instagram, successfully clueing in fans to her big news.
Junior Brynn Wilcox said, “I was mostly surprised by the announcement, there’s just so many Easter eggs that I can’t always keep up with them.”
Additionally, to show their support for Taylor’s new album, many brands changed their profile picture, posted a Showgirl pun or even added items to their menu. Brynn remarked, “I liked all the sports teams that took a take on the album. Real Volleyball posted about it, so it was really good to see women’s sports involved, and of course the NFL too.”
All it took was one clip of Taylor’s blurred album cover, for the brands to come running. A swarm of orange, sparkly content quickly reached social media users screens, matching the album’s theme. Some of the notable posts came from Crumbl, Starbucks, and even the Empire State Building (which lit up the entire building with orange and green lights).
The Life of a Showgirl releases on October 3, 2025. Fans that are looking forward to the album can pre-save it on Spotify or Apple Music now.
