As the new school year begins and our Black Hawks reenter the building, Apple’s newest release, the Iphone 17, sparks conversation among both students and staff. With sleek new designs, technological updates, and several new colors, the phone has been announced as Apple’s most advanced phone yet.
One appealing feature is the enhanced durability and strong ceramic shield. With the help of these protective modifications, students will no longer have to worry about their screens being cracked or risk the possibilities of breaking their phone. Along with the solidity of the phone, Apple has also made some unique changes to the function of the camera. The center stage front camera allows for more flexibility and an easier way to get everyone centered in photographs. One more stand out element of this release is its eyecatching color wave. Instead of simpler shades like black or white, Apple has expanded to a plethora of colors. This provides various options.
When asking students their opinion on the phone, the responses were mixed. An eleventh grade student, Febe Fogle, expressed that she does not feel compelled to upgrade from her Iphone 15. “I think it’s best to keep it simple and the new features are unnecessary.” Many other students agree and they are not willing to pay the price for additional features and are content with the abilities of their current phones.
Another student had a different response. Eleventh grader, Isabelle Johnston, reported that the additional attributes interested her. “The new colors are pretty and I like the new camera.” Although her and Febe had very different responses, both answers raised a valuable question on whether or not we will see the success of the Iphone 17 within BHHS.
As the school year continues, we will see how much the success rate of Apple’s new release will grow. For now, we can admire the company’s desire to advance and provide the community with new technology each and every year.
