Santa is a Tradition That Must Be Maintained
Santa Claus is an age-old tradition that teaches kids to have an imagination.
With a pinch of excitement, and a dash of magic, Santa is here to spread happiness among kids.
If you could teach kids good values, then why not? Believing in Santa gives you the opportunity to groom your kid into a well behaved adult. Santa is thought to give presents to all the kids who have been good in a year. It establishes the significance of a fundamental principle known as the reward system. The reward system helps generate a bigger concept known as operant conditioning, which is a type of learning where behavior is controlled by consequence. The reward system provides an incentive for the kids to be a good person, hence promoting the ideas of kindness, generosity, and being respectful toward others.
Santa doesn’t just give you presents but he also helps kids develop a sense of imagination. Believing in Santa broadens children’s imagination and help them be more creative and innovative. According to many psychologists, imagination is an essential part for brain growth. Imagination helps create more activity in our brain which stimulates brain growth. Isn’t it wonderful being able to imagine Santa’s different elves and their “headquarters” at the North Pole.
If you asked the ten year old me about Santa, you better get comfy because it’ll be a long night. Sure I might not remember my own brother’s birthday, but I could tell you all about the North Pole. Believing in Santa has been a long-lasting tradition across a variety of cultures. December 25th, a day often depicted by snowfall, magic, and cheer is the day that highlights Santa’s journey. Leaving cookies out for Santa while watching for his sleigh through the misty windows on a snowy night is one of the best things I remember about my childhood. Little traditions like this help bring excitement to our dull daily life.
Walk down any street in the world and ask a stranger to talk about Christmas, regardless of their background, Santa Claus is likely to fall into their description. You don’t have to be Christian to believe in Santa. Santa is a totally universal thing especially since the idea of Santa wasn’t even invented until 1881, by a person named St. Nicholas who gave gifts to the poor and helped the needy.
Dashing through the snow, on a one horse open sleigh, he comes to your house, ready to spread joy, Hooray! I have always believed that Santa Claus is a beautiful part of American and other cultures. I don’t understand why people would deprive kids of the joy that Santa brings. According to the Washington Post, 86% of Americans believed in Santa when they were a child. It has been a great tradition for a lot of years and so why not continue it.
