A$AP MOB – New Album “Cozy Tapes: Vol. 2” is Too Cozy
A$AP Mob is currently on top of the world. The hip-hop collective A$AP Mob released their second studio album and the potential album of the year, Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2: Too Cozy, on August 25th, 2017.. Their first album, Cozy Tapes, Vol. 1: Friends, was extremely successful, hitting number 13 on the Billboard hot 100. This prompted the collective to drop another album only a year later, which peaked at number six on the Billboard charts.
Led by popular rappers A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg, the Mob put everything into this album to make it even more prominent than their last album. All members of A$AP Mob were on the album, with surprising talent coming from the younger members of the group.. A$AP Nast, A$AP Ant, A$AP Twelvyy, Playboi Carti, and the young Smooky Margielaa shined on the album. The album featured popular artists such as Quavo, Lil Uzi Vert, Frank Ocean, Big Sean, Gucci Mane, and many more.
A$AP Mob seemed to be more of a family than a rap group. From the smooth transitions from rapper to rapper in each and every song, to the welcoming of younger members, it seems apparent that the Mob is here to stay.
As shown all throughout Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2: Too Cozy, the style of A$AP Mob has incredible ranges. In the song BYF (an acronym for Be Your Friend), A$AP Rocky uses his self-proclaimed “pretty” technique, or a suave tone, to mesmerize listeners. This paves the way for his protege, Smookie Margielaa, to hop on the track and give us a bigger reason for why he is indeed “next up.” The song is slow, yet enthralling The end of the song has a quick transition into the next track, Get the Bag, which is arguably one of the best on the album. Get the Bag is a ghetto anthem, due to the very high bpm (beats per minute), as well as the lyrics. “Ski mask on me so them boys can’t trace me/Car is so fast when I skrt they can’t chase me,” raps the young Smookie Margielaa. The banger showcases seven A$AP Mob members, more than any other song on the album.
Another song that boasts the lyrical genius and transitional range of the rap collective is Bahamas. Bahamas is an instant classic, starting off with Lil Yachty spitting one of the hardest verses of the year. This verse is followed up by rapper after rapper, each better than the rest. The unique beat allows the song to be memorable in the minds and ears of hip-hop fans everywhere.
Cozy Tapes, Vol. 2: Too Cozy entails everything that is crucial for a hip-hop album. The album has extreme lyrical talent, a wide span of beats that take many different tones, today’s leaders of rap, and tomorrow’s leaders of rap as well. The album is available on Apple Music, Soundcloud, and Spotify. It is currently selling for $9.99 online. This album is an instant classic and should be bought by anyone who even slightly enjoys rap music.

This is a great article, and one that music fans at BHHS should definitely read. It is clear that you are knowledgeable about Asap Mob, and I also agree that Cozy Tapes Vol. 2 was good. You included a lot of good evidence about why it was a good album, and it is very clear why people should

This article is really interesting for me because I follow A$AP Mob, and I listen to all of their music. It’s really cool to see somebody writing about their success and what they are working on currently, especially a student from the school. This gets kids more interested in reading the newspaper, and Bhhstoday, and I think this does a great job acquiring different types of audiences.

I thought Cozy Tapes was very good tape. I like how they decided to put Chief Keef on the tape since he’s one of raps biggest influences. I also liked how the gave Smooky Margiela a lot of track time especially since he’s so young. I enjoyed your article very much, it seems that you have a good taste in music.
