Astroworld or Utopia

Which Travis Scott album is on top?
Astroworld or Utopia

After 5 years, iconic American rapper Travis Scott finally released a new album to the public. The long awaited Utopia has listeners raving about the 19 songs, which feature 19 different artists. Similar to Astroworld (2018), Travis did not disappoint, but the real question is, which one is better? Although I have a strong liking for both, it is obvious to me that Astroworld contains the components needed in order to create an album that could be labeled as one of the greatest and most influential ever in the industry of rap music.

Nobody can argue that Utopia has a selection of many amazing songs, including Topia Twins, Fe!n, and more. Although these are popular, Astroworld has countless songs known throughout the world, such as Stargazing, Sicko Mode, and Yosemite. Racking up a total of 7.31 billion streams, Astroworld takes the lead in this category against Utopia’s 1.4 billion streams. Not to mention, every sing song listed on Astroworld was prevalent on the Billboard Hot 100 very shortly after the release.

Setting all of the numbers and data away, when comparing the individual components of each song, the content and flow are very similar between both albums, but what really sets the two apart is the delivery. Travis Scott does an amazing job presenting each and every song on Astroworld, blessing the ears of his listeners. The combination of lyrics and the beat, along with his storytelling ultimately bring together one of the best albums of our time, and the effort that he put into conveying his story through his voice truly makes this a masterpiece.

All in all, both albums consist of many great songs, and are very enjoyable, but the patience put into Astroworld is one of a kind. Maybe it’s the nostalgia and memories surrounding the music that alters my opinion, but for now, I will continue to defend this wonderful composition of music. In the future, Utopia could be classified as better than Astroworld, but for now, it will just have to remain in the shadows. So, what do you think is better?
