A special Board of Education meeting will be held on Thursday, December 14 in the Main Commons of Bloomfield Hills High School to dedicate the Main Commons to former Bloomfield Hills School District Board of Education President Ingrid Day.

“Ingrid served on the Bloomfield Hills Schools Board of Education and was recently awarded the Distinguished Service Award in the spring of 2017,” according to a Bloomfield Hills Schools post.

According to BHSD Superintendent Dr. Rob Glass, Day “was an exemplary leader, exemplary Board President, a great friend, and we are so appreciative for all she has done to support the district and lead us for many years.”

The Main Commons, the heart of the new high school building, will become the Ingrid Day Commons at the meeting to commemorate Day’s record of “giv[ing] her heart, soul, and talents to Bloomfield Hills Schools for over ten years,” according to current BHSD Board President Cynthia von Oeyen.
